About this site

Feel Japan (working title) is a research desk for first- and second-time visitors to Japan from the United States, the United Kingdom, the EU and Australia. It has two layers: visual, inspiration-first features that carry the feeling of a Japan trip, and practical guides that solve one planning problem each.

How we work

Everything published here is compiled from publicly available information — provider pages, official fare tables, government customs and tourism guidance. Every price, fare and rule carries its source and the date we checked it. We do not publish first-hand reviews or personal travel testimony: if a page reads like research, that is because it is research, and we would rather show you the citation than pretend otherwise.

Prices and rules change. Practical pages are re-checked on a monthly cycle; any page whose facts are older than 90 days is flagged in our reporting, and a guide we can no longer keep accurate is withdrawn rather than left to rot.

Illustrations are original artwork created for this site; they are illustrations, not photographs, and captions say so.

Advertising disclosure

Advertising disclosure. This page contains affiliate links — advertising. If you buy through a link on this site, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Prices and conditions shown here were checked against the providers' official pages on the dates stated and may have changed since. This site is a research desk: everything here is compiled from publicly available information, not from personal use, and nothing on this page is a personal endorsement based on first-hand experience.

This disclosure appears verbatim at the top and end of every practical article, at the end of every inspiration article, and in a one-line form directly under every offer card — so the advertising status of a link is never more than a glance away.

Medicines and other regulated goods

Where this site mentions Japanese medicines (for example in the souvenir guide), it reports only that a product is well known or long-selling, and quotes the manufacturer's own labelled indication. It never asserts that any product works, and it pairs every such mention with the import rules of the reader's home country, checked against official customs and health-authority sources.
